Perfect piste magic in the top ski areas of Flachau, Wagrain and St. Johann-Alpendorf with 120 kilometres of slopes and 45 modern cable cars – the winter at Snow Space Salzburg leaves nothing to be desired and is now perfectly networked behind the scenes with the LOLYO employee app.
In order to ensure that sweet ski hares and brisk skiers can take their turns over perfectly groomed pistes, around 400 employees are on duty at Snow Space Salzburg during the winter season. From the lift box office to the piste team, from marketing to accounting, the team works at full speed to offer the guests of the ski area perfect winter magic. The challenge behind the scenes: To provide the entire workforce with their different areas of responsibility and areas of application with optimal information, as Maria Unterrainer, executive assistant and project manager for the launch of LOYLO at Snow Space Salzburg, explains: “In an employee survey at the beginning of the year, it was clearly clear that internal communication had to improve. The question was just how!”
Flexibility and great value for money
The desire for more information and better exchange between the individual departments and departments in the company had its pitfalls: “Some of our employees in the field do not need their own computer access because of their work, so we had to find other ways to reach them.” Another challenge was the local conditions: “Our company is distributed to the sites Flachau, Wagrain and St. Johann, hang out and distribute notes is far from sufficient to keep everyone up-to-date.” In search of innovative solutions for internal communication, Maria Unterrainer came across LOLYO and was immediately enthusiastic about the flexibility of the system, which she says meets “a great price-performance ratio”.
And what is the balance of the project managers, one month after the launch of the app?
“We presented LOLYO at the employee training session before the start of the winter season and receive only positive feedback. So far, there are almost 250 active users out of around 430 employees, so more than half of our team is already using LOLYO.”Maria Unterrainer, Executive Board Assistant and Project Manager
The access figures are also impressive, as Maria Unterrainer describes: “On good days we have up to 550 accesses to the app.”
Win-win situation in internal communication
Maria Unterrainer is also enthusiastic about the functions of the social intranet, such as the wall: In marketing, we always depend on up-to-date photos and information from the ski area, for which we have used WhatsApp groups so far. With the virtual wall, this has now been simplified considerably. Our colleagues on the mountain post dream photos and up-to-date status reports from the piste, which we can use on our social channels. Conversely, we can use push notifications to pass on important information, for example when a lift is due to a technical defect or wind reasons. Our local people can then pass this information on to the guests immediately – an absolute win-win situation!
Commitment to LOYLO is rewarded
The personal commitment and commitment of the team in the exchange of information via LOLYO is of course also rewarded by the company: “We organize competitions and give away goodies in order to promote the fun of the app.” For example, 5 x 2 tickets for “Ski & Enjoyment” with celebrity chef Roland Trettl were recently raffled off, 90 employees took part. The summary of Maria Unterrainer: “We are thrilled!”
